MNT ERA-Net is a network of European Micro- and Nanotechnology (MNT) support programmes. MNT ERA-Net is seeking proposals for commercialisable R&D projects. All MNT topics will be eligible, in particular microsystems, micro and nano manufacturing, micro and nano electronics, nanostructured materials.
Nordic Innovation Centre (NICe) is now coordinating the next call with MNT ERA-Net, the network of European funding programmes for micro- and nanotechnologies (MNT), in order to enhance Nordic-European collaboration. MNT ERA-Net makes regional and national funding programmes accessible to transnational consortia through the distributed (virtual pot) principle. Through coordination of the Nordic MINT II call with the MNT ERA-Net call, NICe offers any Nordic applicant the possibility to add European partners into the consortium. The joint ambition is to commercialise existing research and boost the number of new “Everyday Nano” market-oriented and industry-relevant innovations.
Cornerstones of the Nordic MINT II programme
Projects funded within the Nordic MINT II programme shall both demonstrate considerable impact on contemporary life and prove good potential for commercial success:
- Form essential and beneficial links between research and industry
- Capitalise on existing investments in technology and systems
- Involve and focus on the end-user; product consumer or technology exploiter
- Develop increased value products
Focus in Nordic MINT II:
Through the Nordic MINT II programme, NICe will fund MNT projects within:
- Surface treatment technology
- Nanostructured materials technology
- Sensor technology

About MNT ERA-Net
MNT ERA-Net is a network of European Micro- and Nanotechnology (MNT) support programmes.
It is a 4-year project under the ERA-NET scheme of the 6th Framework Programme of the European Commission.
The mission of MNT ERA-Net is to enhance the competitiveness of the European industry by coordinating European support measures for micro-and nanotechnologies, and through the continuous improvement and streamlining of MNT support services.
This shall be achieved by implementing sustainable joint and coordinated activities and securing mid-term cooperation between the participating funding programmes from all over Europe.
